Newtrade Media is delighted to announce that Louise Banham, editor in chief, has begun maternity leave after giving birth to a healthy baby girl earlier this week.
Louise, who has been with Newtrade Media for 14 years, will be covered by Tan Parsons in the interim from 13 August.
Tan brings 15 years’ editorial experience to the role. His most recent position was managing editor at the Country Land & Business Association, where he headed up print and digital communications. He previously worked for Newtrade Media from 2011 to 2016, as news editor for Retail Express then as editor of Better Wholesaling.
Tan said: “I am delighted to be joining Newtrade Media at this time when the world is full of both extraordinary challenges and opportunities. “Newtrade Media has an outstanding team and a fantastic suite of products that combines heritage, creativity and a relentless pursuit of quality journalism. I am very much looking forward to working with our colleagues to continue to deliver outstanding content and industry leading solutions for our partners.
“Independent retailers and wholesalers are some of this country’s most resilient, innovative and frankly brilliant business people and I cannot wait to get started in this role.”
Newtrade Media managing director Parin Gohil expressed his delight. “Tan brings a wealth of editorial and relevant industry experience, and he will add value to Newtrade Media’s publications and websites. I look forward to working with him and I would like to wish Louise Banham and her family a huge congratulations,” he said.
