Better Retailing Festival & Awards
Launched in 2024, the Better Retailing Festival & Awards is our learning, development and recognition programme for independent news and convenience retailers.
By sharing best-practice advice, connecting retailers and suppliers, and celebrating the successes of retailers across the country, the Better Retailing Festival & Awards champions excellence in the convenience channel, aiming to raise standards and grow profitable sales for all.
Women in Convenience
In 2022, we launched our Women in Convenience initiative, which aims to recognise, support and empower the fantastic women working in independent stores across the UK and Ireland.
In 2023, the Women in Convenience programme will consist of an on-line hub of resources, quarterly newsletters to our Women in Convenience group, news specials in our print titles RN and Retail Express addressing key issues such as symbol group policies, retailer focus groups and an annual event for learning, building relationships and recognising female talent within the sector.
RN 30 under Thirty
In 2021, we launched RN’s 30 under Thirty initiative, to shine a light on the rising stars working in independent retail, those who are making a real difference – to their communities, their customers or to their own bottom-line.
The campaign culminates in a celebratory event, which is a fantastic opportunity for the winning retailers and supporters to network and share ideas, as well as being the launch pad for the following year’s campaign.
