Newtrade Media shortlisted in 5 categories at the PPA Independent Publisher Awards
It hasn’t been an easy year for the publishing industry, but Newtrade Media has faced the challenges of 2020 with a positive attitude and a commitment to quality. Now its efforts have been recognised, and the company is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted in 5 categories at the PPA Independent Publisher Awards.
First of all, RN magazine has been nominated for Business Publication of the Year. In recent years, RN has become the go-to publication for those seeking the latest retail news, insight and advice. In 2019, Newtrade Media conducted extensive research, allowing them to provide even more relevant content for retailers. This content overhaul has led to a 4.7% increase in copy sales and a 20% increase in advertising sales.
Newtrade Media’s highly successful partnership with Lucozade Ribena Suntory led to the creation of the bespoke category hub hosted on BetterRetailing.com, designed to improve our audience‘s success in this category. This was hugely effective, with monthly unique visitor numbers achieving 150% higher than target, and this success is why Newtrade Media has been nominated for Commercial Partnership of the Year.
Newtrade Media has really made a difference in 2020, and this explains its next two nominations – Content Piece of the Year and the Coronavirus Response Award. At the start of the pandemic, RN magazine investigated the government’s claims of funding for small businesses. The findings were published in an article entitled “Government unlocks extra crisis funds after admin errors”, and this eventually led to an extra £617 million of funding being unlocked for small UK businesses. Throughout the pandemic, Newtrade Media has provided additional support to independent convenience retailers. By creating a coronavirus support hub and an accompanying email campaign, the company has helped to keep frontline workers up to date on the latest safety measures and industry developments.
Finally, Newtrade Media has been shortlisted for Launch of the Year for Vape Retailer magazine. Newtrade Media has used Vape Retailer to provide advice and insight to retailers who want to learn to develop and grow their Vape offering. The first 5 issues sold an outstanding 6,052 copies each (average) which was more than target and demonstrated the independent convenience market’s appetite for Vape news, insight and advice.
